A banker bet wins if the banker hand totals closer to nine than the player hand. It pays slightly under even money because the house takes a small commission on banker wins to balance the slight statistical edge.

A natural is an opening two-card total of eight or nine. When either banker or player draws a natural, no third card is dealt and the hand ends immediately. Natural nine beats natural eight.
